First Roll of Film of 2025

I woke up New Year’s Day and packed up my Mamiya C22, a roll of Kodak Ektar 100 and headed for Dublin, GA. I had a couple of other cameras with me but for this buffet serving we’ll focus on this roll of Ektar. I’d not been in the Dublin area in ages so I was curious what the landscape would provide for pictures. I ventured into other surrounding communities; Rentz, Eastman, Dudley; to name a few and got some really interesting shots.

The picture with the farm equipment…that stop was a lifesaver. My stomach had been a little upset since the day before and while in Dublin I pulled into a Waffle House for lunch. Not sure that was a good idea but it hit the spot. Almost immediately from leaving the Waffle House parking lot I knew I was going to be doing a lot of praying until I got home that evening. I puttered along keeping things tight before pulling off in Rentz to take a picture of the tractor in the shed and BOOM..uh-oh. What to do? Do I have any napkins in my car? Will this sock work if all else fails? Then I look to my right and I see the farm laborer’s restroom door open and the toilet shining like a beacon in the afternoon sun. It was a gift from God. I made a dash, checked for toilet paper, gave the toilet a flush to make sure it worked and sat on the extremely comfortable cushioned seat. Ahhhh sweet relief. Wrapped up and gave a flush but this time it didn’t work. Sorry fellas.
